After transferring from Providence College after her first-year, Colby's Caitlin Lawlor found the right school both academically and athletically.
Lawlor, Colby's nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year, was honored with the College's Patty Valavanis Award for academics, athletics, and sportsmanship. The prestigious honor is the lone award given at both the senior athletic awards ceremony and Colby's all-campus award night.
Lawlor was a member of the Mules' cross country and track & field teams. A two-time NCAA Cross Country Championship participant, she earned All-NESCAC and All-New England honors twice. She was third at the NESCAC meet in 2018.
Lawlor also earned All-NESCAC honors in 2017 in outdoor track and field. She qualified for the 2017 and 2018 NCAA indoor meet in the 3,000-meter run and the mile.
Earning a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, Lawlor had the fifth-highest grade-point average among senior student-athletes. She also earned the Thomas W. Easton Prize in Biology as a senior for her academic achievement and passion for the subject.
