CLINTON, N.Y. - Erin Reding,
formerly an assistant women's volleyball coach at Connecticut
College, has been named the head women's volleyball coach at
Hamilton College.
Reding had been an assistant at Connecticut College for the past
two seasons. The Camels tied for second in the 2006 NESCAC
standings with a record of 7-3, and the team was 20-9 overall. Last
fall, Reding helped guide the team to a tie for third place with
another 7-3 conference record, and an overall record of 20-8.
Connecticut College was a NESCAC championships semifinalist both
years.
"We are thrilled to welcome Erin to our Hamilton community,"
Director of Athletics Jon Hind '80 said. "Her NESCAC background,
both as a player and as a coach, coupled with her energy,
enthusiasm and passion have us excited for her arrival."
Reding played volleyball for four years at Wesleyan University.
She was a co-captain and team MVP as a senior in 2005, and was
selected the team's Rookie of the Year in 2002. Reding led the
Cardinals in blocks as a sophomore, junior and senior. She finished
in second place on the program's all-time list with 415 blocks.
Reding also ended up fifth in career service aces (221) and seventh
in kills (1,137). She graduated Cum Laude from Wesleyan with a
bachelor's degree in art history in 2006.
"I'm very excited and honored to be able to call Hamilton College
my home," Reding said. "The team is young, talented, and hungry for
the 2008 season. There is no doubt in my mind that many positive
things are on the horizon for this group. I can't wait to get
started!"
Reding attended Darien High School in Darien, Conn., where she was
co-captain of the varsity team in 2002. She helped lead the squad
to the Class M Connecticut state title and a county championship.
