2001 Women's Soccer Players of the Week
October 29, 2001
Tracy Montigny, Amherst
(Freshman, Forward - East Granby, Conn.)
Montigny led the Jeffs to the NESCAC title with three goals,
including the game-winner in the second overtime of the 2-1
championship game win over Williams. She scored two goals as
Amherst scored five times in a 20-minute span of the second half to
defeat Middlebury 5-1 in the semifinals.

Stacey Starner, Williams
(Junior, Forward - Windham, N.H.)
Starner scored a goal in all three Williams wins this week. She
scored in a 3-2 win over Connecticut College, scored the
game-winner in a 2-0 win over Springfield, and scored the tying
goal late in a 3-2 victory over Tufts as Williams finished the
regular season undefeated.

Claire Samuel, Williams
(Sophomore, Forward - Cleveland, Ohio)
Samuel scored both goals in the second half to give Williams a 2-0
win over Little Three rival Amherst. Williams improved to 10-0
overall and clinched the top seed for the NESCAC Women's Soccer
Championship tournament.
October 8, 2001
Ella Naef, Wesleyan
(Senior, Goalkeeper - Pacific Palisades, Calif.)
Naef made 27 saves in two games, including a 1-0 win over
Connecticut College, the Cardinals' first NESCAC win in two
seasons. She made 11 saves to earn her sixth career shutout.
Earlier in the week, Naef made 16 saves in a 1-0 loss to the
region's third-ranked team, Springfield.
CC Ciafone,
Williams
(Senior, Midfielder - Simsbury, Conn.)
Ciafone scored three goals as Williams remained undefeated. She
scored two goals in a five-minute span to lead the Ephs to a 3-1
road win over Middlebury. She arrived at the Bates game in the
second half after taking the LSAT's and scored a goal in a
four-goal second-half outburst as the Ephs defeated Bates,
which had recorded six consecutive shutouts, 5-2.

Kim Martell, Bates
(Junior, Goalkeeper - Needham, Mass.)
Martell recorded back-to-back shutouts as Bates set a school record
with its fifth consecutive shutout. She made seven saves in a 2-0
win over Simmons and six saves in a 1-0 victory over Tufts.
September 24, 2001
Kate Dockery, Bates
(Senior, Forward - New York, N.Y.)
Dockery scored five goals and added an assist in a 3-0 week for
Bates. She scored two goals in each of two conference wins, 4-0
over Trinity and 3-0 over defending NESCAC champion Middlebury.
Dockery also scored one goal and added an assist in a 3-0 victory
over Southern Maine.

Alle Sharlip, Tufts
(Junior, Midfielder - Kentfield, Calif.)
Sharlip scored two second-half goals to lead Tufts to a 3-1 win
over Middlebury, ranked 13th in NCAA Division III and second in New
England. She scored an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute to tie
the game 1-1.

Jill Falwell, Bowdoin
(Sophomore, M/F - Arlington, Mass.)
Falwell scored two goals and assisted on another goal in a
season-opening 4-0 victory over Bridgewater State.
