Amherst Teams Partner with "Friends of Jaclyn"
AMHERST, Mass. - Jaclyn Murphy was born a healthy baby, but in March 2004, at just nine years old, she was diagnosed with a malignant and life-threatening brain tumor. Four years later, after countless tests, surgeries and chemotherapy, Jaclyn is not only winning her battle but is also affecting collegiate athletics across the country—including at Amherst.

Saward of Middlebury Named NSCAA Coach of the Year
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Middlebury College men’s soccer coach David Saward has been named the NSCAA/Adidas National Coach of the Year. The 23-year head coach led the Panthers to their first NCAA Championship this fall, setting a new school record with 18 wins against just two losses and a pair of ties. His ’07 squad earned a school-best 17 shutouts, while capturing the NESCAC Championship.

Men's Soccer Weekly Release #12
HADLEY, Mass. - Middlebury claimed its first NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship over the weekend, moving past undefeated Trinity (Texas) in Saturday’s championship game at Disney’s Wide World of Sports via a 4-3 penalty kick margin. The Panthers played to scoreless ties in the semifinals and championship and finished their 2007 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament run by not allowing a goal in all five tournament games.

Middlebury Wins 2007 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Middlebury men's soccer team won its first NCAA Championship with a 0-0 tie with Trinity of Texas in the title match in Florida. The Panthers won the crown on a shootout, edging the Tigers, 4-3. The national championship is the 28th for the College since '94, in eight different sports. The Panthers end the year with a school-record 18 wins (18-2-2) and 17 shutouts. Trinity suffers its first loss and ends the season with a 23-1-0 mark.

Middlebury Moves Past Loras on Penalty Kicks
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Middlebury men's soccer team has advanced to the NCAA Championship game for the first time in school history, after a 0-0 tie with Loras in an NCAA semifinal game in Florida (Middlebury advanced 3-1 on penalty kicks). The Panthers will take on Trinity of Texas, a 1-0 winner over Messiah, in the title game on Saturday night at 6:00.
