2002 Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

May 6, 2002
Matt Dunn, Middlebury
(Senior, Midfielder - Kent, Conn.)
Dunn scored eight goals and assisted on four others to lead Middlebury to the NESCAC championship. He scored six goals and assisted on another in a 16-5 semifinal win over Amherst, and finished with two goals and three assists in a 14-8 title game victory over Colby.

April 29, 2002
Hunter Walter, Bowdoin
(Senior, Midfielder - Pepper Pike, Ohio)
Walter scored eight goals and assisted on six others in a 3-0 week for Bowdoin. He scored four goals and added five assists in a 14-10 win over Bates in the first round of the NESCAC tournament. He scored two goals and added two assists in an 8-5 win over Colby, and tallied twice in a 10-8 victory over Trinity.

April 22, 2002
Paul DeRosa, Williams
(Sophomore, Attack - Washington, D.C.)
DeRosa stepped in for injured players and scored seven of Williams' 19 goals in two victories. He scored three goals in a 9-5 win over Connecticut College, and tallied four goals in a 10-9 victory over Wesleyan.

April 15, 2002
Josh Allen, Bowdoin
(Senior, Midfielder - Saugus, Mass.)
Allen, a senior captain, scored three goals as Bowdoin snapped top-ranked Middlebury's nation-high 21-game winning streak, 9-8. He also netted a hat trick in a 13-4 win over New England College.

April 8, 2002
John Shea, Colby
(Senior, Goalkeeper - Mountain Lakes, N.J.)
Shea played every minute of three NESCAC wins as Colby improved to 4-0 in league play. He made 32 saves and allowed just 6.0 goals per game with a .640 save percentage.

April 1, 2002
Zach Herbert, Middlebury
(Senior, Attack - Cape Elizabethtown, Maine)
Herbert scored six goals and assisted on six more goals in two Middlebury wins. He scored four goals and added two assists in a 17-10 win over Wesleyan. He finished with two goals and four assists in a 10-8 victory over Gettysburg.
