La Rose, Amherst (Senior, Goaltender - Boyle, Alberta) La Rose backboned the Lord Jeffs to the 2012 NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship this past weekend, as he stopped .938 percent of the shots he saw. On Saturday in the semifinals against rival Williams, La Rose turned aside 27 shots in a 2-1 victory. Sunday afternoon, La Rose regrouped after allowing two early goals and finished with 33 saves in a 4-3 victory over Middlebury. La Rose combined to stop 38-of-40 shots (.950) over the final two periods of both games this past weekend. |

Messina, Bowdoin (Sophomore, Goaltender - Newton, N.J.) Messina propelled the Polar Bears into the NESCAC semifinals by making 31 saves during his team’s 2-1 victory over Trinity on Saturday (.969). After allowing the game’s first goal just 1:54 into the contest, Messina shut down the Bantams for the final 58:06 as he held Bowdoin’s opponent scoreless on six power play chances and stopped 23 shots over the final two periods. |

Saturday evening at Wiliams, La Rose made 42 stops in a 3-1 victory over the Ephs. He followed on Sunday with 30 saves, including several in the final minutes of the game, in a 2-1, come-from-behind win for Amherst. |

Downey, Bowdoin (Sophomore, Forward - East Sandwich, Mass.) Downey recorded six points, including the game-winning goal in both of the Polar Bears’ road victories this past weekend. After netting a goal and three assists in Friday’s 9-2 win at Tufts, Downey collected a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 6-4 victory at Connecticut College, scoring the decisive goal in the third period. |

Moher, Amherst (Junior, Forward - Toronto, Ontario) Moher recorded four points for the second-straight week with two goals and two assists, as his Lord Jeff squad posted two conference wins and secured the top seed in the upcoming NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship. Saturday evening against Tufts, Moher netted a goal and two helpers in an 8-0 victory. He followed on Sunday afternoon with the game’s first goal in a 5-2 decision over Connecticut College. He is currently in the midst of a three-game goal streak. |

Moher helped out on all three goals as Amherst snapped Bowdoin’s seven-game unbeaten streak in a 3-1 decision on Friday evening. He followed Saturday afternoon with a late tally in the third period to push the Jeffs’ lead to two goals in an eventual 5-2 victory over Colby. |

Gallegos helped the Jumbos remain in the fight for home ice in the quarterfinals of the upcoming NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship with a goal in each outing during a 1-0-1 road showing. Friday evening at Williams, Gallegos buried the game-winner with 48 seconds left in overtime for a 3-2 Tufts win. Saturday afternoon at Middlebury, the Jumbos found themselves down 2-0 after two before Gallegos sparked a two-goal rally in an eventual 2-2 draw. |

Messina helped keep the Polar Bears on a roll last week by backstopping his team to a pair of victories against two of the top squads in the league standings with a .955 save percentage and his first shutout of the year. Friday evening against Williams, Messina turned aside 23 shots, including 11 in the decisive third period, as Bowdoin earned a 4-2 victory. He followed on Saturday afternoon with 21 stops in a 5-0 win against Middlebury. The Polar Bears are 7-0-1 in their last eight NESCAC outings. |

Menard, Trinity (Junior, Forward - Burlington, Mass.) Menard posted three goals and an assist during a 1-0-1 weekend for the Bantams in NESCAC play. On Friday evening against Colby, Menard scored twice, including the eventual game-winner late in the second period, and added an assist in a 7-4 victory over the Mules. Saturday afternoon, Menard gave his squad a 4-3 lead against Bowdoin midway through the second in an eventual 4-4 tie. Menard is tied atop the Bantams’ stat sheet with 18 points, scoring a team-best 10 goals. |

Barchard took home MVP honors at the 47th annual Codfish Bowl over the weekend as he backboned the Jumbos to the tournament title by stopping 75 shots (.949 save percentage). After making 33 saves in a 3-3 tie with Johnson & Wales on Friday, Barchard turned aside 42 shots in Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win over host UMass Boston. |

Purdy, Williams (Senior, Goaltender - La Jolla, Calif.) During a 3-0-0 week for the Ephs, which included a pair of NESCAC victories, Purdy made 107 saves on 113 shots for an impressive .963 save percentage. On Tuesday at Westfield St., Purdy made 30 saves, 15 coming in the third period. He stopped 49 shots in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime win over Wesleyan, snapping the Cardinals’ five-game win streak. |

Stowell, Wesleyan (Junior, Goaltender - Hadley, Mass.) Stowell took home MVP honors at the St. Michael’s Holiday Classic as he helped his Cardinal squad to the tournament title with his first-ever shutout in 25 career starts. Making his only appearance of the weekend on Saturday, Stowell turned aside 26 shots during a 5-0 victory over Salve Regina. With a 4-1-0 record, Stowell leads the nation in save percentage at .949 and is fifth in goals against average at 1.79. |

Colp helped the Lord Jeffs to an unbeaten weekend in league play, which put his team atop the NESCAC standings heading into the winter break, with a pair of goals and assists. During a 5-4 victory over Williams on Friday, Colp had a goal and two assists, scoring the Jeffs’ second goal before assisting on the next two. Saturday afternoon, Colp scored in the second period in a 4-3 overtime win over Middlebury. He leads Amherst in scoring with four goals and five assists. |

He had three assists, including the lone helper on the game-winner with 1:14 left in regulation, in Sunday’s 4-3 victory over the Thoroughbreds. During Saturday’s 5-5 tie with Brockport St., DiMare had two goals, an assist, and a shootout goal to help Hamilton advance. |

He made 30 saves in a 4-1 win at Trinity on Friday, then had 27 saves in a 3-2 decision over Wesleyan on Saturday. |
