GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Three NESCAC skaters earned a spot on the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Men's All-America teams. Amherst teammates Jeff Landers (Hanover, Mass.) and Cole Anderson (Eckville, Alberta) were named to the East First Team, while Middlebury's Jamie McKenna (Lake Placid, N.Y.) found a spot on the East Second Team.

Landers, the NESCAC Player of the Year, Sid Watson Award winner, and Joe Concannon honoree in 2009, earned first team All-American status and played a major part in helping his Lord Jeffs host an NCAA Tournament game for the first time, defeating Babson, 4-1, on March 9. The team captain, Landers recorded nine goals and 33 assists for 42 points in 28 games this past season. His career marks: 23-75-98 in 104 career contests.

Anderson, an All-NESCAC First Team selection, platooned in net with classmate Jonathan La Rose (Boyle, Alberta) and the tandem combined to anchor the Amherst defense as the Lord Jeffs allowed a Division III-low 1.46 goals per game this season. At 10-4-1 with one shutout, Anderson boasted a 1.51 goals against average and a .954 save percentage to lead all NESCAC netminders. Anderson made a career-high 54 saves during a 4-3 win over Middlebury on Feb. 20, a victory that not only gave the Jeffs their first win over the Panthers since the 1999-2000 season but also secured the number-one seed in this year’s NESCAC championship.

McKenna, who also was an All-Conference First Team honoree, led the league in scoring at the end of the regular season and finished the 2008-09 campaign with 38 points on 15 goals and 23 assists, just two points shy of a personal-best 40 accumulated during his rookie campaign. Of his 15 tallies this season, seven have come on the power-play while five have served as game-winners.
