Three NESCAC Players Selected to Participate in NABC All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced rosters today for the first NABC Division III Senior All-Star game, which will played as part of the 2010 NCAA Division III men’s basketball championships, March 20, at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. Williams senior co-captains Joe Geoghegan and Blake Schultz along with Colby senior Adam Choice have been named to the all-star rosters for Saturday.
The NABC Division III All-Star game will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., replacing the consolation game. Two 10-man teams have been selected for the game, with two players coming from each of the eight regions in Division III. The remaining four senior players will be selected from the two semifinal teams which do not reach the Division III national championship game, scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

nominated by coaches and selected by a panel of coaches
representing each region in Division III.
Geoghegan and Schultz have started all 30 games this season for the
Ephs and Schultz is the team’s top scorer with 19.0 ppg and
Geoghegan leads Williiams in rebounds collecting 8.2 a contest. If
Geoghegan and Schultz do play in the contest, Geoghegan will
represent the East Team and Schultz will play for the West Team.
Earlier in the week, Choice was selected as the Maine State Division III Player of the Year for the third time in a row and was on the NESCAC First Team All-Conference squad.
Choice finished his career ranked eighth all-time in scoring for Colby with 1,534 points. He also had 654 rebounds, 185 assists, 134 steals, and 95 blocked shots during his four years.
In the latest NESCAC statistics, Choice ranks tied for second in scoring (18.3), eighth in assists (3.4), ninth in blocked shots (1.04), tied for ninth in steals (1.16), and 10th in rebounding (6.7). He is the only NESCAC men's basketball player since the 2002-03 season to finish the regular season in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, and blocked shots.
The game will feature a pair of outstanding former coaches who have both been recipients of the NABC Division III Distinguished Service Award. Former University of Wisconsin-River Falls coach Rick Bowen will lead the West team while Dr. Mike Beitzel, who coached for 20 seasons at Hanover College, will guide the East team.
