Donald McKillop, Middlebury
(Senior, QB - Poway, Calif.)
In his final game for Middlebury, McKillop broke the only Panther passing record he didn’t already own as he tossed six touchdowns in a 42-20 victory against Tufts. McKillop went 29-for-41 (.707) for 339 yards with no interceptions, posting an efficiency rating of 188.48. He ends his career having completed 814-of-1,300 passes (.626) for 8,748 yards and 62 touchdown passes over 30 career games.

Defensive Co-Players of the Week

Kevin Helm, Bates
(Junior, ILB - Norwell, Mass.)
Helm recorded a game- and career-high 18 tackles (14 solo), including 2.5 for a loss of six yards, in the Bobcats’ 28-18 victory over Hamilton in the season finale. He also broke up a pass in the win. Helm finished the year tied for the team lead in tackles with 80, and his single-game tackle total was the highest for a Bates player in over five years.

Nick Campbell, Trinity
(Sophomore, WR - New Albany, Ohio)
Campbell had a blocked punt, a kick return of 37 yards, and a punt return of 34 yards in the Bantams’ 27-20 victory at Wesleyan on Saturday. Campbell’s blocked punt in the final minute of the first half led to a Trinity touchdown and a 17-14 halftime lead. His 37-yard kickoff return set up a Bantam field goal.

Nick Kmetz, Colby
(Junior, QB - Laurel, Del.)
Kmetz set three single-game program records en route to accumulating 473 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in leading the Mules back from a 41-28 deficit to a last-second 42-41 victory at Tufts on Saturday. Kmetz was 40-for-53 (.755) through the air for 392 yards and three TDs and gained 81 yards on 17 carries (4.8 yards per rush). Kmetz orchestrated the 17-play, 73 yard game-winning drive with 3:24 to go, twice converting on fourth down and hitting Spencer Merwin with a one-yard scoring pass with no time left. He established records for total offense in a game, completions, and attempts.

Ian Vieira, Bowdoin
(Junior, LB - Plymouth, Mass.)
Vieira had a hand in two key second half turnovers that directly led to nine Polar Bear points, as Bowdoin rallied from a 14-12 halftime deficit to a 21-14 lead against Bates in an eventual 21-20 victory. Early in the third quarter, Vieira intercepted a pass at the Bobcat 30 and returned it nine yards, as the Polar Bears scored the go-ahead touchdown two plays later. Later in the quarter, Vieira recovered a fumble in Bates territory, setting up what proved to be the decisive field goal. He also had five tackles in the game (four solo), including one for a loss of four yards.

Jeff Lauer, Williams
(Senior, PK - San Diego, Calif.)
Lauer, a goalkeeper on the Ephs’ men’s soccer team, was added to the football roster in week two having never played the game before. In his first field goal attempt ever on Saturday against Wesleyan, Lauer connected 32 yards. He was also 1-for-1 on extra point attempts.

Anthony Fucillo, Tufts
(Senior, QB - Winthrop, Mass.)
Fucillo had a record day in a wild, 70-49 loss at Amherst on Saturday, setting NESCAC and program records for 503 passing yards and 525 yards of total offense against the Lord Jeffs. He completed a team-record 42-of-63 passes (.667) with a season-long reception of 65 yards and had a efficiency rating of 143.10. Fucillo tossed three touchdown passes and ran for two more as he led the Jumbos to 671 yards of total offense, also a NESCAC record.

Harry Melendez, Trinity
(Senior, CB - Holyoke, Mass.)
Melendez picked off two passes for the fourth time this season during the Bantams’ 25-10 victory over Middlebury on Saturday. His first interception of the day came with four minutes left in the first half and eventually led to a Trinity field goal. Melendez also had three tackles (all solo) and two pass break-ups as part of defensive effort that held Middlebury to just 203 yards of total offense, 23 incompletions on 39 attempts, and without any points for the final 41:57 of the game. Melendez’s nine interceptions through six games ties the NESCAC and the program record for picks in a season.

Matt Rawson, Amherst
(Junior, P/K - Bethesda, Md.)
Rawson accounted for 16 of the Lord Jeffs’ 70 points during a 70-49 win over Tufts on Saturday. In addition to going a perfect 10-for-10 on extra-point attempts (32-for-33 on the year), Rawson punted the ball four times for an average of 41.8 yards, pinning the Jumbos on their own 1-yard line twice. He also ignited the Jeffs’ 35-0 scoring run with less than a minute to play in the second quarter, taking a handoff and rushing three yards for his first career touchdown on a fake field goal. Amherst’s 70 points were the second-highest total in NESCAC history and the most in 17 years.

Alex Vetras, Amherst
(Senior, QB - Bellevue, Wash.)
Vetras threw a career-high four touchdowns and set a program record for completions in a game (39) to lead the Lord Jeffs past Wesleyan on Saturday, 37-10. Vetras went 39-of-51 (.765) for 289 yards with a rating of 149.95, as he used 11 different receivers in the victory. He also had two double-digit consecutive completions streaks in the game, throwing 10 consecutive passes in the first half and 13 over the second and third quarters. It was also the fourth consecutive game in which he was not intercepted, as he has thrown 13 touchdowns and one interception through five games.

Sam Diss, Tufts
(Sophomore, DB - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Diss grabbed his third interception of the season and also returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown during Saturday’s meeting with Williams, which was eventually won by the Ephs 35-24. He added two pass break-ups and had four tackles (three solo). Late in the first half, Diss’ pick led to a Jumbo touchdown and put his team up 17-14 at halftime. On the first possession of the second half, Diss returned the Ephs’ fumble for a 24-14 advantage for Tufts. In addition, Diss returned six kickoffs a total of 128 yards (21.3 per return).

Connor Sullivan, Colby
(Junior, P/QB - Hamilton, Mass.)
Sullivan helped the Mules win the battle of field position during Saturday’s 35-7 victory over Hamilton, as he averaged 49.6 yards per punt and landed two inside the Continentals’ 10-yard line. Sullivan was only forced to punt on three of Colby’s 12 drives during the game, with his first punt going 66 yards and ending up at the Hamilton four-yard line. He also relieved starting QB Nick Kmetz in the fourth quarter and went 1-for-1 through the air for 10 yards.

Darren Hartwell, Williams
(Sophomore, WR - North Reading, Mass.)
Hartwell continued an impressive sophomore season with the Ephs on Saturday, as he caught five passes for 180 yards (36.0 per catch) and three touchdowns during Williams’ 41-17 victory over Middlebury. It was the second time in three weeks that Hartwell has hauled in three TD passes, which tied the Williams single-game record shared by three others. His first touchdown of the day was a 92-yard reception on the Ephs’ first play from scrimmage. Through four games, Hartwell has 15 receptions for 438 yards (29.2) and seven touchdowns, one shy of the Williams single-season record.

Cyprian Oyomba, Wesleyan
(Junior, LB - Norwalk, Conn.)
Oyomba led all tacklers in the Cardinals’ 27-20, come-from-behind victory at Bates on Saturday with 16 stops (10 solo) and helped set up his team’s game-winning score late in the fourth quarter. Tied at 20, Oyomba recovered a fumble at the Bobcats’ 29-yard line with 1:52 remaining in the game, and the Cardinals went on to score a touchdown on the ensuing drive. He also had a tackle for a loss of a yard and a pass break-up. Through four games, Oyomba leads the conference in tackling with 12.5 per game.

Kyle Weiss, Wesleyan
(Junior, P/WR - Niantic, Conn.)
Weiss punted five times for an average of 42.8 yards per punt during the Cardinals’ 27-20 victory at Bates on Saturday, the third win in a row for Wesleyan. He had a long of 60 yards and put two inside the Bobcats’ 20-yard line. In addition to his contributions on special teams for the Cardinals, Weiss also tossed an 80-yard wide receiver option pass for a touchdown in the third quarter and caught two passes for 16 yards.

Donald McKillop, Middlebury
(Senior, QB - Poway, Calif.)
McKillop tied the Panther program record for completions - which he already owns - as he went 47-for-62 (.758) for 421 yards and two touchdowns (140.26 efficiency rating) in a tough 38-31 setback to unbeaten Amherst on Saturday afternoon. He also gained 20 yards on the ground. McKillop also became New England Division III’s all-time leader in completions during the game, as his 666 career completions surpassed the 628 owned by James Williams ‘09 of Western Conn. St.

Griffin Cardew, Bowdoin
(Freshman, CB - Ipswich, Mass.)
Cardew collected a pair of key interceptions, forced three pass break-ups, and had seven tackles (five solo) as the Polar Bear defense held the Tufts offense to just nine points in a 22-15 victory, Bowdoin’s first win of the season. Cardrew’s first interception stalled a Tufts drive and led to Bowdoin’s first score of the game. Later in the game, with the Polar Bears leading late and Tufts driving for the tying score, Cardew grabbed his second interception.

Grant White, Bowdoin
(Freshman, P - Springfield, Vt.)
White played a big part in the Polar Bears’ 22-15 win against Tufts on Saturday, as he helped Bowdoin win the battle of field position in the fourth quarter. White dropped three punts inside the Tufts 20, including a pair of boots which were downed inside the Jumbos’ six-yard line. He averaged 37.5 yards per kick and also converted an 18-yard fake punt for a first down.

Alex Vetras, Amherst
(Senior, QB - Bellevue, Wash.)
Vetras completed 26-of-38 passes (.684) for a career-high 340 yards and tossed three touchdowns to lead the Lord Jeffs over Bowdoin on Saturday, 38-7. Vetras’ 340 yards were the most by an Amherst player since the 1997 season finale, a stretch of 97 games, and it was also the first time he has eclipsed 300 yards in a game. He recorded a efficiency rating of 169.63 as he completed passes to seven different receivers, threw no interceptions, and was not sacked on the afternoon. Amherst’s first three drives all resulted in touchdowns.

Dan O’Mara, Williams
(Junior, DB - Allison Park, Pa.)
O’Mara led the Ephs defense during a 29-21 victory over Trinity on Saturday, recording a team-high 11 tackles (eight solo), one of which was for a loss of two yards. He also intercepted a pass, which he returned four yards, and had a pass break-up.

David Bendit, Colby
(Sophomore, K - Emmaus, Pa.)
Bendit converted a 36-yard field goal attempt - a career-best with the Mules - and made all five of his PAT attempts in a 38-27 victory over Middlebury on Saturday afternoon. The field goal, his only attempt on the day, put Colby up by a 31-14 margin midway through the fourth quarter, as the Panthers went on to score two more touchdowns before the end of the game.

Ryan Lupo, Williams
(Senior, RB - Princeton Jct., N.J.)
Lupo was the Ephs’ go-to-guy in Saturday’s 33-15, season-opening victory over Bowdoin, as he played a part in 33 of Williams’ 76 offensive plays with 185 yards of total offense and two touchdowns. He carried the ball 31 times, racking up 167 yards (5.4 per carry) with a long rush of 18, and had two receptions for 18 yards. His first TD rush of six yards capped an 11-play, 70-yard drive late in the second quarter, while his second TD came on a 4-yard rush with 34 seconds to play in the game.

Justin Freres, Wesleyan
(Senior, DB - Santa Barbara, Calif.)
Freres led the Cardinal defense with 14 tackles (10 solo) in a 24-21 loss at Middlebury. He also made a key end-zone interception with 10 minutes left in the game. The pick led to a 16-play, 80-yard scoring drive which brought Wesleyan within one score.

Pat Barren, Williams
(Senior, LB/DB - Worthington, Ohio)
Barren made seven tackles (four solo), two of which were for a loss of seven yards, forced and recovered a fumble, had two pass break-ups and returned an interception 53 yards for a touchdown with 5:29 to play in the third in the Ephs’ 33-15 win over Bowdoin.

Matt Rawson, Amherst
(Junior, P/K - Bethesda, Md.)
Rawson was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts, 5-for-5 on point-after-touchdown kicks, and averaged 35.2 yards per punt during the Lord Jeffs’ 44-0 win over Bates on Saturday. Rawson’s 25- and 33-yard field goals both came in the first quarter to help Amherst take a 20-0 lead. Of his four punts, one landed inside the Bobcats’ 20-yard line.
