Keith Drake, Connecticut College
Keith Drake’s intensity, determination and
competitive drive have separated him from the competition on the
cross country course and in track and field for the past three
years. Drake earned Division III All-New England Honors in each of
his three seasons with the cross country program and garnered
All-NESCAC accolades in 2005 and 2007. In 2005, Drake qualified for
the NCAA Championship with a 12th place finish at regionals. In the
fall of 2007, Drake finished 13th in the All-New England
Championship, topping the field of Division III competitors with
the highest finish for a Camel in program history.
During the 2008 indoor track season, Drake qualified for the NCAA Championship in the mile. At the Boston University Valentine Invitational this February, Drake broke a school record in the mile that had stood for nearly three decades, posting a time of 4:11.75. He went on to win the New England Division III Championship at Tufts, breaking a facility record in the process. A Dean’s High Honors student, Drake has been honored as a cross country Academic All-American in his junior and senior seasons.
Drake was named First Team All-District in the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Cross Country/Track & Field program. Drake capped off his career by receiving the Brown/Brooks Award at Connecticut College. The award is given to the outstanding male and female student-athletes who best represent the graduating class in scholarship, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Drake will pursuit his doctorate in psychology at Dartmouth College beginning in the fall of 2008.
